i had gran turismo for psp when it came out i was beyond hyped for a psp release cuz i was already diehard into 4 and 5 and it honestly was a pretty good game. just came out at a weird time...

FrostBite game engine was never made for racing games so they had to go with it because ea and reasons.

PC port is ass on newer PCs.

I know without the online aspect the GT series would not be as large as it is today, but man, I sure do miss when these games focused on simulation mode.

Despite only playing and loving the first couple of games, I never stopped 'wanting' to love the follow-ups. These days, I recoil in terror whenever a once-beloved franchise is 'making a return', not the way publishers choose to make games that have some perverted revenue-streaming, 'endgame' featuring cash-grab.

I only got to play the original R&C on PS2. I bought a 360 instead of a PS3. Now that I have a PS3, I'm looking forward to playing all of R&C games that I missed out on

Hot Pursuit is fine, but it can get mad boring quick. My problem is that the game is very restrictive and scripted in a way. No quick race option, we drive in the events as intended, the cops will spawn in the same spots, for the same races with helicopters coming in the exact locations. The point I'm trying to make is that I can't do Avalanche event in exotic class being only a race. And a lot of the time I'm doing events in cars I don't like or want to drive, with having an option of two from a whole car selection. Music in the game sucks too, with the chase score sounding like an episode of The World's Most Dangerous Police Chases or something like that, monotone. Honestly Rivals is way better, and what HP should've had been, a lot of people don't like it because of HP and the fact the game was made in like 8 months and released with glitches. But I can do any event in any car I want, if I'm a cop other AI police can join in a help out, instead of lone wolfing in HP. Not to mention the heat level 10 chases being one of the most intense in any NFS since the original Most Wanted, with a blood pumping score dynamically changing depending on the situation. Also a better handling system, sure HP has some slick drifting, but doing any reversing or turning at slow speeds and the cars feels like a tank. For me the thing HP has going for it, is beautiful graphics, and mad crazy sense of speed.

Graphics and audio are great,music awesome of course ,I finally played it after many year it was released . Unfortunately it doesn’t compare one bit ,even with the older hot pursuit games ,handling model is horrible ,game’s buggy on so many level s and if you notice when you start playing for the first time it tells you “replay value” well that’s true because like NFS The run you will replay the race a million times ,most races feel repetitive but the main reason you will replay is because you’ll crash ,either because the car handles like a brick or steering bugged and all of a sudden pulls to a random direction. Traffic as always placed in worse situations ,spamming when the race is finally fun causing you to crash and ruining the experience ,compared to Underground is horrible ,at least in both Underground games you can use skill and experience to avoid traffic ,in here the car’s steering becomes even more stiff and pulls towards the traffic ,so you either hit the traffic or press the handle-brake and steer into the wall ,that unless the steering bugs and pulls anywhere it wants to lol. For old school players it can be enjoyable ,I mean even for me who finally played it after so many years , I lover the “The Ultimate Road Car” race ,after completing it I played it again but for newer younger players who get the game it’s probably a “meh” and an annoyance compared to other racing games that are out there .

Sure, every single point that you made about undercover may be true.But I personally didn't mind the game.Sure.It was infuriating at some Sections of the games but I enjoyed it For what it was, I Personally was overjoyed that the game was challenging.In my opinion, because I've beaten most wanted carbon in all the previous games that led up to this one.And I still have yet to beat it, I know EA was pumping out games on a frequent rate.But I believe this is underrated even today

Other then the Clicovision, Sega Dream Cast and Xbox. The N64 has the worse controller ever made. Lol. I also hate xboxs controllers. The left stick is in a dumb spot.

Why are the sounds and Graphics better than the final GT5

Shame they could never recapture the magic of the first game with the sequels, The gameplay, visuals, cars, tracks, replays with that thumping matrix style music that made every race super intense.

This game had such potential….. a shame it fell through in my eyes due to crappy driving mechanics and bad combat gameplay.

This game was fun until the career mode got too difficult. 😢 You have to drive literally perfectly to even get close to a podium finish.

Just picked up fable the lost chapters for £3... but I'm gonna be playing it on the 360 haha, hopefully it's not too bad, I've heard to save often cause it can be glitchy

Best one in the series

I never played this game, in fact I have only played driver san francisco in the whole driver series and I seriously love that game. I think driver as a series always had an identity crisis and the fact that early driver games (after driver 2) relied too much on the grand theft auto formula but what reflections should have done was to keep their strength : driving, as the core mechanic of the series and build on it through the kind of story telling that driv3r has.
